About the Event
ROOTS welcomes refugee students in 4th grade and above to join our 2024 STEM Summer Camp for an engaging week of science, exploration, and teamwork.
Throughout the camp, students will take part in hands-on activities covering topics in chemistry, biology, physics, mathematics, technology, and engineering. ROOTS Club members will guide students through experiments and challenges that encourage them to observe, build, test ideas, and work together to solve problems.
Our goal is to help students experience science as something they can actively explore rather than simply read about in a textbook. By learning through experimentation and collaboration, participants will have the opportunity to develop confidence, curiosity, and a stronger interest in STEM.
ROOTS volunteers are also encouraged to join us in leading activities, mentoring students, and helping create a welcoming and supportive learning environment.
